Walas Popup — Privacy Policy

Walas Popup ("the App") lets Shopify merchants display a configurable popup on their storefront. This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is used.

Data the App accesses

With your permission when you install the App, we access:

• Store information — your shop domain and basic shop details, to identify your store and publish popup settings.
• Files (read/write) — so you can upload and select popup images from your Shopify Files.
• Popup settings you enter — the popup content, styling, and page targeting you configure in the App.

The App stores your popup configuration (per shop) and an authentication session used to communicate with Shopify on your behalf.

Data the App does NOT collect

• The App does not collect, store, or process your customers' personal information.
• The App does not track individual storefront visitors. The popup sets a first-party cookie only to remember that a visitor dismissed the popup so it isn't shown repeatedly; this cookie contains no personal data.

How data is used

Data is used solely to provide the App's functionality (showing and configuring your popup). We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Subprocessors

• Hosting & database — the App is hosted on Railway with data stored in a managed MySQL database.
• Shopify — popup settings are published to a Shopify shop metafield so your storefront theme can render the popup.

GDPR & data requests

The App implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• customers/data_request and customers/redact— the App stores no customer data, so there is nothing to return or delete.
• shop/redact — when you uninstall, the App deletes your shop's stored data (settings and session) within Shopify's retention window.

Data retention & deletion

Settings and session data are kept while the App is installed. On uninstall, the App removes your session, and shop data is deleted when the shop/redact webhook is received (about 48 hours after uninstall).
